A few more snaps
Once again there's been a long gap between posts so I fear that anyone visiting as a result of Tarik's link a while ago (actually some months ago now I think) will have had little to see. And if you didn't come from there you should go at once and look at the excellent pictures of a visit to the Flying Pigeon factory (originally from Shanghai Crash Test Dummy), assuming, of course, you're interested in Chinese bikes. The Flying Pigeon company site itself is worth a vist. Not much evidence of the classic roadster. You can get a Flying Pigeon road bike with low spoke count wheels, those short chrome fenders that were all the rage when I was a kid and a really big big sprocket (or possibly a spoke protector disc.)
At any rate, I've been sorting through some pictures and come across a few more bike snaps.
The flower bike:
This bike completely mystifies me. I forgotten which Chinese city it was in. Possibly Beijing. The handlebars are brazed or welded to the the rear rack and a thin rod (hardly visible in the photo) has been brazed to the headset.
This guy in Xian was carrying what seemed to be a bronze rhinoceros in the back of his trike.
A Coke delivery trike in Yangshuo:
And to finish up, a bike with crazy flower-like wheels and a semi=recumbant (if this is laid back enough to be considered semi-recumbant.)
That's all for now. I hope to get some more stuff up soon, including some pictures from Japan.
Now I should go and do laundry or clean my chain.
